CarPlay support is not a video guarantee

Head units and iOS versions differ. A working connection for maps or music does not by itself establish support for DashTV's video presentation. Check the app's display-support message, and do not treat an iPhone simulator image or an illustrative website mockup as proof for a particular vehicle.

For basic connection setup, follow Apple's CarPlay connection guide and your vehicle manufacturer's instructions. DashTV does not add CarPlay to a head unit that lacks it and does not require a jailbreak.

Separate a content issue from a connection issue

  1. Confirm that your phone is connected to CarPlay and DashTV appears on the car display.
  2. Check your iOS version, app version, Pro access and any support message.
  3. Try your own known-working, non-protected video file. A failure confined to one website or stream may be a content or service restriction.
  4. For browser handoff issues, return the page to the phone and follow the browser guide. For a black mirrored video, review capture restrictions.
