A web browser for your parked car display
DashTV lets you browse a page on your iPhone and use Show on CarPlay to hand that browser to a compatible car display. Your iPhone can provide text input while the page appears on the dash.

Browse first, then send the page
- Park, connect CarPlay and open DashTV on the car display.
- In the iPhone app's Browse tab, enter a website address or search.
- When the page is ready, tap Show on CarPlay. The active page moves to the car display.
- Use the car browser's navigation controls or return the browser to your phone when you need to continue there.
This is a handoff of the active browser, not two independently interactive copies of the same page. The phone's handoff state is expected while the browser is on CarPlay. DashTV also provides tabs, bookmarks and history for returning to useful pages.
Type on your iPhone
When text entry is active on the car browser, switch input to the iPhone using the phone-keyboard control. The phone's keyboard sheet sends text to the active field. You can return to the car keyboard when finished. This helps with a website search or address entry without relying only on a wide dashboard keyboard.
Desktop pages and web video
DashTV's current browser defaults to a desktop-style page request. A site's layout and supported features still depend on that website and the underlying browser. Some sites may require login, restrict embedded video or decline playback on a particular device.
DashTV can look for supported video in a page, but a detected video is not a guarantee it can be played separately. Protected content, account requirements, formats and site policies still apply. The app does not bypass paywalls or DRM and does not include streaming-service subscriptions.
What needs a connection?
Web pages and streams generally require internet access from your iPhone. If you will be parked somewhere with poor reception, import your own supported file into the video library beforehand. Bookmarks save addresses, not complete offline copies of a streaming service.
The full-screen car browser is part of DashTV Pro. Check display compatibility before relying on it for a particular vehicle. Browse only while safely parked and stop before the vehicle moves.
