What you need before adding a playlist
Get a playlist link or file from a provider or media server you are allowed to use. An M3U playlist is a list of stream locations; it does not make those streams available by itself. An M3U8 URL may point to an HLS stream or a playlist, depending on the source.
- A working playlist or stream URL from your provider or own server.
- Permission to access the content and any required subscription.
- An internet connection for live or remote streams.
- DashTV Pro and a compatible head unit for full-screen car mode.
Add and find your channels
Open Channels in DashTV and add the playlist link or import the playlist file. Once loaded, use channel groups, search and favorites to find the stream you want. The current free tier allows one playlist; Pro removes that playlist limit.
Keep provider URLs private. Playlist links can contain account credentials or access tokens. Do not publish them, place them in a public support post or send them with a general compatibility question.
Why a channel might not play
A provider can change its addresses, restrict simultaneous streams or require a current account. A stream may also fail because of weak reception, an unsupported codec or content protection. Test whether the stream works in its authorized source first. DashTV cannot restore an expired provider account or grant access to a channel.
Live IPTV is different from offline video
Importing a playlist saves the list, not every channel's video. Live streams normally require internet access. For offline use, import your own supported video files into the local video library instead. A provider's protected downloads may remain usable only inside its own app.
DashTV does not sell television service or endorse a playlist provider. For vehicle requirements and help with display support, read compatibility and support. Stop playback before the vehicle moves.
