Watch your own videos on CarPlay while parked
DashTV is designed to bring your own videos and supported web content to a compatible CarPlay display while parked. Car mode requires DashTV Pro; a CarPlay connection by itself does not guarantee video support.

Choose the right way to play
Start with the source of your video. A file saved on your iPhone, a video on a website and a live channel are different sources, with different connection and playback requirements. DashTV brings them into one app, but it does not supply the content.
| Source | Where to start | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Your own video file | Import from Files or Photos into Library. | The file must be downloaded and use a supported video format. |
| A video on a website | Open the page in Browse. | The site must allow playback in the browser. Internet access is needed. |
| Your IPTV stream | Add your provider's playlist in Channels. | You need a working stream and permission to watch it. |
| Supported iPhone content | Use Mirror and start an iOS broadcast. | The source app must permit screen capture. |
From your iPhone to the car display
- Park before starting. Connect your iPhone to your existing wired or wireless CarPlay setup.
- Open DashTV on the car display. Check the display-support message and your Pro access.
- Choose your source. Select an imported video, open a web page or choose a channel from your own playlist. When browsing on the phone, use Show on CarPlay to hand the page to the dash.
- Stop before moving. End playback, mirroring or browsing before the vehicle moves.
What works offline?
Imported, downloaded video files can play locally without a mobile data connection. A bookmark or playlist link is not a downloaded video. Websites and live streams normally need internet access. An offline download inside a protected streaming app is not necessarily a file DashTV can import.
Why might video fail or show a black screen?
A protected service can block screen capture or browser playback. A stream may also be unavailable, use an unsupported format or require a different account session. Test with your own known-working video file to separate a content issue from a display issue. DashTV does not bypass DRM or promise playback from every service.
For hardware and iOS requirements, read DashTV compatibility and support. For the browser handoff, see the CarPlay browser guide.
